They survived! We had car trouble so instead of arriving home late on Memorial Day we arrived home late a few days later. The plants were dry but alive. Not bad all things considered. I think this design could use some tweaking since it isn’t wicking water quite as quickly as it is lost out of the soil (finding cotton clothes line without a nylon interior would be a big help) but it did serve it’s purpose – prolonging the time between waterings. All in all, I’m going to call this a successful first version.
